Colon Hydrotherapy FAQs
How long is an appointment?
Colon Hydrotherapy appointments are generally 30-40 minutes long. We allow an hour to get you comfortable in advance of the procedure and to complete your appointment. After the procedure you'll have time to use the toilet in the room.
Will I get dependent on colon hydrotherapy?
The process we use is the gravity fed method, which means there's no pressure (unlike the pressurized systems). Since your body is under gravity 24 hours a day, you're used to it!
What is the session like?
This is colon irrigation, not a cleanse, not an enema. We use the Wood Gravitational Method, which is a discreet, closed system. The procedure involves an internal bath that helps cleanse the colon of poisons, gas, accumulated fecal matter, mucus, parasites and undigested foods.
Why should I worry about my colon health?
When the colon is clean and functioning properly, we experience better health and well being. When our colon is full of waste, toxins and is congested with stagnant wastes, poisons back up into our system and pollute our inner environment. This is called autointoxication which literally means "self poisoning".
What are the benefits of colon hydrotherapy?
Colonics offer relief from a variety of issues caused by impacted and putrefactive fecal matter, such as: Fatigue, Headaches, Gas, Irritability, Skin Conditions, Cold Extremities, and Low Energy, Constipation, Diarrhea.
What is "regular" when it comes to pooping?
If we eat three meals a day, we should be pooping 3x a day -- about 20 minutes after each meal. Your poop should be about 6" long, smooth and tapered and about 2-3" in diameter.
How often can I get a colonic?
It's safe to get a gravity-fed colonic every 24 hours. For most, however, that's not necessary.
At what age can I start getting colonics?
Colonics can be performed on anyone over the age of 10. Anyone under the age of 18 must have the presence of an adult to get a colonic.
How do I know if I need a colonic?
One of the first signs you need a colonic is lack of regular and complete eliminiation. You should have a bowel movement about 20 minutes after each meal. This elimination should be relatively easy and and quick.
Can I get a colonic if I'm pregnant?
If you've been getting regular colon hydrotherapy, we're happy to perform this procedure on you. However, if this is your first colonic and you're pregnant, it's our policy to require a doctor's prescription to have the colonic performed.
What's in the water that's used during the session?
Nothing! We use only filtered water filtered with a carbon filter.
How many sessions will I need?
While we can get a considerable amount of toxins and waste out during one treatment, most client benefit from more than one session. We offer packages for sessions at your first appointment and making a recommendation based on your state of health and your first procedure. Most clients initially get the best results from a series of 4 sessions in 2 weeks or a series of 7 sessions in 3-4 weeks.
Are there health concerns that would prohibit me from getting colon hydrotherapy?
We require an online intake form be completed in advance of your first appointment so that we may evaluate your state of health. Some potential clients may not be candidates for colon hydrotherapy and some may require a doctor's prescription. When we confirm your first appointment, we'll send the online intake form for your completion and our evaluation.
